I love how anxious both of them are because even though they trust each other during their playtime, they still haven't closed that gap in their daytime relationship. Courtney doesn't know about the trauma that lays behind Richards desires, so she can't grasp why he is so hesitant. On the other hand, Richard still seems to be not convinced that Courtney actually enjoys their BDSM relationship now. Which isn't even that far fetched if you consider that he kinda forced her into it. Both don't know the thoughts of the other - unlike us readers.
