ok i was so confused when the translator note described a fast year and that hyun was “technically older” but then baekya was asking to be called hyung. put my two brain cells together and i figured it out: the school year starts in march. hyun is a fast year, meaning he was born in january/february of the next year but could technically start school with the older students bc his birthday is before that cut off. the implication is that he did take this loophole (ex. idk if their birthdays were revealed, let’s say baekya’s class is born in '99. hyun might be a january '00 baby hence younger than baekya)
