I went back to double check and that literally never happens dude. It's in chapter 4 and He says he can't tell her the truth about being blackmailed by mask guy to hang out with him because it could stress her out and she had JUST come out of a depressive spiral.

Then when he goes off to see him and says about being friends she says
"people like that don't stick around! They get bored and ghost you. It's not YOU he likes it's the IDEAL image of you on his feed. If you try to be friends with him it's not going to end well."

That's NOT degrading him or threatening him with self harm. That's mentioning she has depressive episodes and has self harmed before WHICH IS DIFFERENT than 'threatening it if he leaves'. And it's not degrading to say 'hey a fan of yours only sees the ideal version you put on the screen to see. That doesn't mean they like the real you' which is a FAIR warning because parasocial relationships are real and fans can easily turn on you when their perceived view of who you are changes.

Also, now knowing she is ALSO a steamer, it's VERY possible that she's literally made friends with fans before and when they saw the real her and not their perceived idea of her, they hurt her so badly it fucked up her life and she got depressed.

So she needs therapy and to work on herself before getting into another relationship so she can be healthy and happy with someone that loves her.

News flash guy, depressed people can be in relationships and the people in their lives, including their partners, are their support systems. People are worthy of love even through their darkest times, and sometimes especially through their darkest times. Hope she does find someone else, bc clearly her bf is not invested in the relationship enough.
