I agree the royals are hypocritical in trying to punish Claire for the same crime they’ve committed, but the arc hasn’t exactly ended yet so I guess we’ll see where this goes and we never know, the royals getting away with it might bite them in the ass later down the story. And the dad reacted that way because he’s a dad, the same way Claire wanted revenge because she’s a mom. I think why the audience can sympathise with him and Claire is because seeing your child get hurt/die warrants the amount of rage they’re expressing, not because they’re sexy or rich and what not. Plus, the royals wanting to execute Claire is because she almost killed the princess, not saying that that is what should happen, just that it would be weird for them to be passive about seeing their kid die because they’ve covered up their part in her child’s death before. Not defending them, it’s just people of those times being classist, as per the setting.
I've read enough stories and seen enough comments to knoe that most ppl will who read rhese genres will sympathize with a sexy dude before a justified woman that's why I added the sexy thing.
Just look at the early comments of remarried empressx even though sovieshu was the worst in the scenario there was more comments berating and shitting on rashta..
Same thing in the comments many ppl were saying Claire is terrible cause the child is innocent or whatever but no one made any comments when then Duke threatened to murder innocent doctors.
My brain kinda assumes everyone has the same context as me, so it may look like I'm upset for no reason but I've read enough genres to know that from how the mc is acting they will move on from this incident with probably only claire dying.

nah because Trashta was still a bitch, you could sympathize with her but she spiraled after trying to imitate Navier, and she became worse per life decisions, idgf about her previous boss and his fam, especially the red haired girl, but she cut off an innocent maid's tongue off because of her delusions, and that's all on her, I haven't finished reading it but you gotta admit, Trashta has a freaking heinous mindset, if only she just stuck with being a concubine, she would've lived an easy life, but she just had to want power, she became greedy, my sympathy for her died when she decided to kill people, especially that one guy who helped her, I forgot if they were friends from their slave days or smth but smh

As always the royals face no consequences for their actions. And the head maid is probably going to be killed by the crazy crime obsessed dude just like the twins.
Mc's Dad literally admits he would have done worse than Claire but it doesn't matter cause he's a sexy Duke with enough money to buy a whole city or whatever.
And before anyone mentions that the child she almost killed was innocent or whatever, I'm angry about the king, queen and their daughter hiding a whole ass dead child and getting away with it but Claire gets the death penalty and is only spared because someone of a similar status to the king and queen admits he would have done the same if not worse than what claire did.
