Ok kinda long but pls bear with me lol
The first chapter is the present and the blonde esper is actually Hima (real name Hwajin). Than has awakened as a Guide and is now the Director of their division, though he doesn’t realize Hima and Hwajin are the same person. Yes, Hima/Hwajin is the one being gang raped
The current chapters is the past, going back seven years, when Hwajin lost his memories after falling. Not sure if he fell or if he tried to end his life after killing his whole esper squad to avenge his twin brother who was killed by the same squad. He was saved by the Library, and Than named him Hima.
As Hima, he’s completely different and doesn’t remember being a powerful esper with the ability to control vines/plants. In the current chapter, a merchant visiting the Library seems to know him and in the flashback it shows Hima/Hwajin was once a low-zone citizen with a strong personality (unlike the current Hima we see now). He became a soldier to protect his brother despite hating the capital because the merchant dude ratted out that his twin was a guide (to help them get a better life apparently).
We still dont know how present day Hima regained his eye and why his hair turned blonde or why he was in that situation being assaulted :/
