Ash is a kid who grew up in a really fucked up environment and probably learned the harsher truths of life at an age even adults would struggle coping with He's definitely got a couple screws loose But he's still a kid Which means he has no notion of consequences He's very short sighted and despite being smart, he clings to the first person who extended their hand to him I can't even imagine what kind of character he'll become in the future Definitely a morally ambiguous character, with a giant fixation on Tracy, who'll do terrible things for her and proving he's "good" And the ironic part to me is that all characters so far have also been morally the I think by the end of the story, we're all gonna have a lots of reasons to love and hate every character that appears
