I honestly forgot about the whole mother thing lol. Mainly because of how stupid the rest of the plot is. His relationship with his mother, and the mystery surrounding her is the only interesting thing about this story other than the children (who are the only reason I read the whole thing)
This is one of those stories where MC get’s everything handed to him at the most convenient time, so he barely has to struggle or think. Everything just works out. Always. And everyone makes assumptions and does things in his favour. On top of there being multiple annoying characters (the goddamn squirrel). It’s actually so boring to read.

People do anything for money. And in the end, his greed for money won. A rational person would've doubted things first but him? He just looked at the luxurious house and forgot everything. Where else would he get this much money? Lol and he's been incredibly lucky too. The situations don't seem as dangerous as they say when he's the one facing it. It's almost annoying how everyone thinks he's great, powerful, kind and whatnot when in reality it's all a huge misunderstanding. But i can let it slide, for the cute kids. Hoping he has a character development too.
Dropped this hella early on coz wtf do you mean he has to take care of a facility his absentee mother handled and gets stuck with overly ungrateful staff who treated him like shit on his first day on the job? And to treat him so badly when NOBODY explained the true nature of the job, the supernatural shenanigans, and the rules that come with it...
OH, let's also not forget the repeated accolades from parents telling MC what a great caretaker the mother was and how amazing she was with the kids. How the kids loved her so dearly.
Just. Fuck. Away. From. Me. Coz WHAT
OK...rant over. With that out of the way, how is it actually? Is it any better this many chapters down the line?
