The novel is way more detailed because we actually get inside the stepson’s head, his thoughts and how he views his stepdad. That’s why what happens in this chapter isn’t really surprising in the novel. It feels 'natural' and expected of his character. Nah this is fucking sick. At first I thought that the son will do something to that co-worker once he found out he was blackmailing his step dad but it turns out he did nothing but to rape the mc and throw shitty words on him! He even blame the mc and tried to kill him! It's my fault for expecting character development.
