Rape in bl is mostly just an easy way to add drama to a story. And it does work pretty well from what I can see.
And considering that the majority of readers are women, yes it is less disturbing if its a man being violated than a woman. The less you can relate to the character, the less disturbing it is (atleast, thats what i believe).
it's not romanticized or brushed off like most bls tho... This is a genuinely truamatic situation, but I understand not wanting to see shit like this.
So many grapes in bl that It makes me wanna hurl right in the middle of reading a chapter. Like do these bls author think having that done to a man makes things better or less disturbing than a woman or sth?
