There's boundary between employee and employer. He can't really do anything to Sejin beside come when needed, express some concern, then leeave even when he didn't want to.
This is still the first timeline so their relationship isn’t as fleshed out as readers know it is. If I remember correctly in the second life he’s more involved with Sejin and we get to see that Sejin accepts this intentionally
Plus in the novel it showed that he really didn’t want Sejin to take the pills. He was adamant about it
