I genuinely dont understand people who ship kashima x toono the most basic shii ever. Like if you want something that bland and boring there are so many manga for you to read LOL
Even tho I agree with you, I feel like Yacchan might receive the second male lead syndrome. I keep getting the feeling she might put Kashima x Toono as the endgame. Unless she proves me wrong lol.

I've read this series multiple times (main focus on yacchan and toono) I'm convinced they're gonna end up together. The author has put the most effort into their relationship. no way people think he's going to end up with yuu. Toono has already rejected him various times...he doesn't show any interest at all. If u actually pay attention you'd see how much development yacchan x toono has. Knowing the author as well, she's not gonna make such a boring ship end game. Yuu is kind of like a stereotype yaoi character. He's boring. OGERETSU TANAKA NEVER SETTLES FOR BORING. Re read the manga if u disagree with me. Start with toono and yacchan stuck in the rainstorm together, that's when yacchan shows his true self to toono. Toono is the ONLY other person he shows his true side to. "he shows that side to tamura as well. Does that mean they're gonna end up together" NO! When tamura confessed to yacchan, yacchan rejected him and literally said, "i already have someone I like." TOONO!!!!!!!! HE LIKES TOONO!! when yacchan and toono watched the fireworks together, that's when yacchan admits that he likes toono. Ever since that chapter he's been really giddy around toono and it is SO cute. I truly dont understand not liking yacchan as a character, especially as toono's love interest. Yuu confessed to toono way too quickly, he didn't even have a real reason, or any development prior to that. It made no sense at all. Also this manga has been ongoing for like a decade. Yuu as a love interest is long gone. Truly. bonus: I stalked the authors Twitter and she has quite a few ship arts of yacchan x toono, no one else ;3
