I cannot express how fucking enjoyable of a read this was. Before I continue, I love love loved this damn story and this is why that policy of reading till the end exist for properly discussing something. Cannot recommend this enough, it is sooo fucking cute.
Anyway, onto my personal thoughts (take these as purely random rants - u don’t have to agree or like it, but it’s what I thought about the story.)
To begin with the first couple - I was just mad the bottom was hurting and dragging around the top all because he wanted to sleep with him AT FIRST. It’s not until you really see how much he likes him and his self punishment and loathing start to make sense with his backstory into play.
The bottom in the story is very human and I can’t like and say I liked him at first, but he did grow on me a lot after the 20-something chapters of internal conflict and some caring words for THE GOAT BOSS. You also get his explanation, backstory, and other key items that give him further depth and he becomes so enamored with his man that it’s hard to really stay disliking him. He becomes such an enjoyable character after that, finally willing to let himself be “loved” after denying Himself that for the longest time that its enthralling to see him and the top dance around each other until they talk things out. From then on their relationship is so enjoyable and season one ends on a docile and cute note.
NOW THE SECOND COUPLE - I WAS SO WORRIED THEY’D BE A BACKGROUND SIDE COUPLE WITH NO FURTHER INSIGHT. I legit was so fucking happy to see that season 2 was almost entirely them and their plight. I think it transition so well too to encapsulate the bigger issues around them and their friends/family. I didn’t feel like they ever took away from the 2nd couple when the story expanded and the other become more relevant towards the middle and end because of how well the story was written. It was so fucking cute, I don’t even wanna spoil it becuz u definitely feel it - the way they all mesh into one happy family.
The other characters - every fucking side character is also so goddamn enjoyable I can’t even begin to put it into words. The girl who is meddlesome? Great character development (I never hated her even in the beginning). The “goons” who follow the 2nd top around? Such fucking great friends to all of them. The momentary “ONS villain ” from the 2nd story couple? Just someone who needed help and became part of their family. THE AMAZING ASS BOSS? When they say age has wisdom, they meant this MF right here. He deserves the world.
