i feel like this story won't have a happy ending. mincheol is abusive and taeha is an obsessed stalker. mincheol will probably die before changing for the better (literally, taeha might just wipe him off the face of the earth lmfao) and taeha will always keep haesoo in the dark about most things. he'll probably put her through danger considering how his family is. i just don't think the ending would be one most readers want, which i think is cool.
haesoos personality is realistic. abused and poor during childhood and married the only person to treat her nice who then turned into an abuser for years. abuse and work is all she knows. she's empty and tired. but when taeha comes along we see her start to choose for herself (like to sleep with him, contact him first, get him gifts) and she gets a little light in her eyes.
taeha was also abused and chronically ill as a child. it seemed to get to him, considering his scar on his wrist (but it's hard to tell cause the author hasn't said shit abt him lol). he was also empty but instead of being meek like haesoo he turned cruel. willing to do anything to help a woman he saw crying in the rain and the more he watched her suffer the more he wanted to help her. but ofc he is flawed bc he's a weirdo and a creep and pretty naive.
i like the story a lot still. even though it is moving slow. guess i'll come back in a year haha
