Ppl give low ratings when they don't like how dark a story turns or black flag the ML is, but objectively, this is a pretty well-written story. Yes, there is rape, forced pregnancies, and assault. But the story clearly shows them to be the poor/malicious choices of our characters. they aren't used just as sexual content for the characters to fall in love. They are the results of the characters who are BOTH deeply flawed ppl with very deeply embedded emotions that they can't let go of. The story doesn't romanticize rape but rather shows it as what it is. I also like that the characters have a lot of personality, especially in season 2 where the tone is much lighter bc the characters don't make the same mistakes as before. It's nice to see how characters learn from their previous mistakes and how making better choices affects their outcome. The story is very emotionally volatile but like i said, it is rather well written for what it is. It's just not a happy go lucky, super romantic narrative with perfect people.
