Okay, while jaekyung’s got a LONG way to go, I think that the submission of Doc Dan “winning” against him—when he literally has a winning complex— is demonstrating the sincerity and intensity of his thoughts right now. And like… He “lost” against Dan because there was no competition, and Dan didn’t (and doesn’t) stake jaekyung’s entire identity on his ability as a top-preforming athlete. He’s realizing how good Dan is for him… and how BAD he was for Dan. I’m so excited to see how jaekyung’s attitude and actions will be in the next couple of chapters. If I didn’t see an end in sight, I’d guess he’d shake off the thoughts as being a result of his sickness. But I think these thoughts will stick with him. Though his stubborn ass will drag out his own redemption for sure
