Child Psychologists have noted that children will be mean/aggressive with their primary caretakers, or the people they trust the most. This is all subconscious.
For instance, my kid had a hitting phase, but it was only targeted towards me. It's because she views me as someone who will never leave her, so she feels free to be in her most vulnerable state. She acts way better/more formal/more respect with other family members. It's somewhat bittersweet cause ow pls stop hitting me but I'm glad you feel safe with me.
I think this is the case with Kiseong. He doesn't admit it but he absolutely feels like he is the safest with Kijeong and will act out because he knows deep down she will not abandon or hurt him. He carries that one time she slapped him because it's the one time his beliefs were proven wrong and the start of his trauma. The cousin took advantage of this situation by pacifying him (giving candy, toys etc..).
Kiseong is projecting his hurt onto Kijeong, because the grooming began when Kijeong was planning to leave. So he must've felt abandoned. Even though he had the choice to go with her he's still a child who just got his feelings hurt so he's going to be petty.
Both siblings are traumatized but express it in different ways. Kiseong is very explosive and outfacing while Kijeong bottles it up and punishes herself.
