He actually has the card and only need to snatch the opportunity, but he MUST choose such depressing way. The only excuse I can think of is him having PTSD for the brother that make him believe the brother is too powerful, he didn't have a chance. I'm not nagging about Yigon's character. It's just, his personality actually aren't really reliable even for his own self.
The question is: Is it gonna be an amnesia arc or not?
