When one responds either directly or indirectly to someone who is so desperate for attention they would ragebait, one is rewarding their negative behavior. It doesn't matter if the intention is to call them out. Any engagement is a reward to the ragebaiter.

i don't understand why people would always say calling out a rage baiter is a reward for them, as if your ego is as fragile as your values, to not rectify someone when all the reward they could get from their stupidity is fatuous delight.
i'm saying this because mangago doesn't even monetize or put someone on an algorithm for baseless tomfoolery. it's laughable.
then again, to preserve our own peace of mind, "dont feed the trolls" as they say. though i had written my previous remark with so much as whimsical apathy.

Someone ragebaits to get a reaction out of people. They don't do it so you agree with them. They do it so youll bite the hook and argue with them. So it's a reward when you engage. It doesn't have to do with money. Some people will just do anything to have anyone give them even a bit of attention. That's how they get their high and feel a little more alive.
