well, they both treated the MC’s like shit on the side of the road, both were (are) arrogant, both did not care abt anything besides their career (streaming and mma), when shit got rough they both took it out on their twinks, never prepping the twinks during sex, both were hoes, etc etc. i could go on

“ y'all only know when to talk when it comes to Jinx” yeah bc the author literally copied and pasted her last story, just created different characters but stayed with the same plot? it’s literally no different from bj alex. both JK and alex share almost identical behavioral patterns and relationship dynamics beyond just being jerks. the author doesn’t know how to create different personalities besides a bottom who’s a fucking rug (dan and bj alex bottom) and a top that’s walks all over them (jk and alex), both are recurring character archetypes written in nearly the same way, with similar beats and conflicts. so sure, its similar across the toxic bl genre, but the parallels between bj alex and jinx’s are too strong to ignore and idc what u say

The death of media literacy will be the undoing of us all. Something being SIMILAR doesn't mean it's THE SAME.
Let's talk about it:
1. JK and Bj Alex are obsessed about their careers. Yes. But for DIFFERENT reasons. For Alex it was mostly vanity. And for JK it's literally the crud if his self confidence and overcoming the low self esteem that was beat into him by his father and being abandoned by his mother.
2. Their relationship with their bottoms: Alex was never in anyway abusive towards his twink (as you say). At most he was an emotionally distant fuckboy. He had to overcome his baggage from his previous relationship in order to face his new one. JK, on the other hand, was abusive towards Dan (but not of malicious intent, more from selfishness and possessiveness). Over the story we see why he's the way he is and why he was so emotionally blunted. It's up to him and Dan to figure out how their relationship will be going forward.
3. Their fundamental characters: Alex is a social butterfly as a camouflage for his internalized homophobia. When he sheds living up to people's expectations and just starts being himself, he's happier.
But JK is the opposite. Doesn't pretend to be anything he's not, but is emotionally isolated from everyone. Outside of his obsession with winning, he's neutral about everything else.
So again, how are they the same??

idk why u talking abt media literacy, i understand media Very well. i just think you’re misunderstanding what im saying so im going to clarify a bit. i never said jinx and bj alex were the same, i said that the characters, narrative, and PLOT!! (very important!) of the story were strongly similar. NOT THE SAME. “the author literally copied and pasted her last story just created different characters but stayed with the same plot? it’s literally no different from bj alex. both JK and alex share almost identical behavioral patterns and relationship dynamics beyond just being jerks”—my exact words. never said anything abt the two stories being the same, just the parallels between the stories being significant enough to feel like the plot and behaviors of the characters are recycled. maybe you got confused bc i said “the author literally copied and pasted her last story” then followed it up with “it’s literally no different from BJ Alex”, but i hope i cleared that misinterpretation up. great? great.
now let’s continue this discussion.
1. career obsession. sure the motivation of their careers differs, but the function of this trait in the stories are both the same. their career is prioritized over their partner and becomes an obstacle in their relationship. jk got mad and “fired” dan for his mistake during an important match and not being able to separate his feelings from his professional life and alex got mad at dong gyun for crashing his livestream and basically saying he has a lover, also not being able to separate his feelings from his “professional” (sex partner) life. so these aren’t similar?
2. relationships. never said alex was abusive to dong gyun. anyways, both stories follow the “top treats the bottom like crap until they get emotionally invested” formula. and i would like to argue that alex and jk are both dismissive, obviously, as alex disregarded dong gyuns feeling and treated him like a sex toy until his place was threatened (alex thinking that dong gyun liked bj md and tested out the sex toys on him as a form of punishment), we already see how jk treats dan so we know he’s dismissive of dan until he leaves him and jk realizes how much he needs him. we can also argue that a similar punishment happened in jinx where jk used sex toys on dan bc the pink haired actor that liked him and jk wanted to mark his territory or whatever.
3. fundamental personalities. those are surface level differences. at their core, both jk and alex are both emotionally unavailable men who only start reflecting and changing because of their relationship with their bottoms. again, the same archetype.
this is the last time i will reply to you. if u still dont agree that these two stories are indeed similar, that’s fine also. i made and finished my argument.

1. JK didn't fire Dan bkoz he couldn't separate his professional and emotional feelings. He fired him cause he thought Dan betrayed him. And that's why Dan left, bkoz JK didn't trust him. Alex blew up on Dongyun cause he directly challenged his job and risked his identity bing exposed and also bkoz DG developed romantic feelings for him. Not the same. JK was willing to ignore Dan's feelings cause he still needed him professionally. Alex cut DG off immediately. Very different approaches to problems.
2. JK wasn't doing it as "punishment". He wanted to tire Dan out as much as possible and prove Dan's devotion/obedience to him over anyone else to Heesung. Saying they're both dismissive, this they're the same is not sufficient analysis, bkoz that's a general characteristic of most persons before they like another person. The importance is the "why", what informs that dismissiveness. And JK/Alex have different reasons for the way they behave in relationships.
3. Lol, again. That's literally the toxic tob bl subgenre. Douchebag tops that grow to love only their bottoms. It's like you don't even know the subgenre you're consuming.
And this is my last response as well. It's plenty evident that you don't know what you're saying.
