i also think a lot of readers are used to fast hyper unrealistic expressions of feelings and relationships in a lot of these BL stories. most tropes like this will have 5-6chapters of backstory that explains the ML’s horrible behavior then for 3-5 chapters, the MC is fighting their feelings during the chase arc. i think this explains why some ppl are like “why isn’t he begging for forgiveness?!?” when in reality (which is what this is inspired by) most people would not be begging for forgiveness yet. it would take time for them to swallow their pride and ego to realize they were wrong.
That's not really the issue here. What I'm seeing is readers getting frustrated with short chapters , they make the plot feel rushed and incomplete. You can't just blame impatient readers when the story itself feels disjointed. Expecting dreamy-eyed fans to stay patient when every chapter leaves them unsatisfied? That's unrealistic. People will keep venting in the comments, and honestly, that's just how it goes, you can't stop them from sharing their thoughts.
Y'all, he just STARTED to realize how shitty he was and already y'all are expecting this man who is full of pride and egp to immediately drop down and beg on his knees for forgiveness? Sit the fuck down and wait. It's just starting for fuck's sake.
Y'all dont seriously expect him to start bowing down infront of Dan, hands rubbing together, on his knees with tears flowing out of his eyes like a waterfall right???????
AT LEAST he's finally realized what he did and how bad it was. No, his traumatic and sad backstory does not excuse his shitty behavior towards Dan but it did give us an understanding to how he became that way.
In his monologue he said that for him, to survive is to win. He's so focused on winning because he doesn't ever want to experience the shitty things he did when he was younger that its completely blinded him to the point he's resorted to such acts towards Dan, especially during the time when he got injured before the match with Junmin, who we now know what his relationship is with. He got angry and blindly accused Dan and fired him and said shitty stuff to him that broke Dan even more than he already is with Jaekyung's treatment towards him.
Then Jaekyung realized what he did after spending time with him and how much it affected him that he gets nightmares from when he saw Dan trying to go into the ocean. He's finally opening his eyes to the effects and consequences of his actions and words towards Dan AND THIS IS GOOD!!! Because now, he's aware.
But y'all need to know, this is only thr START of the chasing arc. He hasn't even properly talked to Dan about this now properly thought about it so stop saying that he should be begging by now. Just stop. Fucking WAIT. Let it cook, surely, he'll also get his awakening like Jiwon in BJ Alex but for now, we let it cook.
And if you hate is so so so much, no one is stopping you from dropping this and forgetting about it. No point in coming here and reading if in the end, you're just gonna complain about how Jaekyung is still not doing this or still not doing that, right?
