Acc to actual mythology gods ruled egypt once upon a time n seth usurped the throne and his nephew horus challenges him and they have 3 most imp duel. So this is Bl variation of the actual myth. Mojito incorporates n references actual mythological lore heavily in this manhwa so you'll have fun digging up info on actual gods while reading this as the minor tidbits add to the essence n reading experience.
Now, there is chasing arc yes. Its a slow roasting slow burn and btw I outta warn u there are very graphic rape scenes here so u would have to be mindful abt those. Crux of the story is seth who commits uncountable acts of tyranny and ruthless crimes against Egypt, kills uncountable men women children is brought to trail and must atone n suffer the wrong doings he did on each n every soul. Along his atonement journey horus who is our ML accompanies him. Many ppl covet seth btw and want him but trust theres only one CP aka horuseth but they suffer a lot. Plot is heavily layered complex with nuances and tidbits that u can catch if u are invested enough. Many ppl hate ennead because they cant differentiate their pov esp when theyre reading abt gods like its ridiculous how they pin human expectations and arrangement on Omnipresent entities who are allegorial personification of Natural elements of earth that ancient humans worshipped. Example God of moisture n god of air are siblings born by sun and are couple who give birth to god of earth soil and god of sky who also are couple n give birth to peace, war, fertility n life, magic n education.. and this is how Egyptians made their pantheon for worship. I mean yeah incest gross but they arent humans and from scientific perspective duhh the pairings make sense does it not ofc sunlight is reason for lifr on earth and after sunlight when planet became habitable we had oceans first followed by mass of land and oxygen nn so so etc etc. Anyway most fail to see this n thrash on this but its a good work. Story might come across toxic in some places but trust me no one in ennead can actually be boxed in white or black labels. Theyre all multi dimensional layered individuals whose character sketch and personality analysis run deep. Except for main antagonist of this manhwa who's incorrigible and devil incarnate n irredeemable theres not a character u can villianise if im being honest. Seth has wayy too many flaws which make him toxic and so does horus or other characters but this is why its imp to remember they arent humans so we cant hold them by our standards of toxicity / innocence. So um I cant give u a definite "all good all best" sign. Read at your own judgement and I hope you'll be able to grasp n experience the story properly. Oh n the ones u can actually hate are the main villian and the foreign god side character XD when he appears you'll know why I said this. Good luck!!!
