Don't wanna spoil much, but basically when he was younger all of his past relationship were either some "straight" dude was using him for s*x and was manipulating him that the "straight" was only gay because of him and he should be grateful
Or
Some openly gay men also using him for s*x whilst having a partner (he doesn't know that they have a partner until last minute)
Some of them he would be catching feelings and when he was about confess they would say stupid sh*t like what I wrote above
Or
When he thought that maybe there is a mutual feelings between him and them, they would hit him with the words like "No, you're a good f*ck and all yada yada yada" something along those lines (I just skim through those chapters cuz I was pissed of HAHA)
