it's cause the new bl audience influx that happened during the covid pandemic are internet noobies, a lot of us who have been in fandom culture since the early 2010s know the unspoken rules followed in internet spaces. where all of us get to enjoy what we like without disturbing others. these people never chose to learn that. thus, feeling the need to announce everything and shun on things they find "problematic". while we're like "hey man im gonna dip cause its not my cup, but you have fun with it"
For the last 10 years I've used mangago it was kind of an unspoken rule where we all agree we like/tolerate different things and are still respectful of one another. Is the sudden hate on EVERY noncon from the influx of tiktok users or what? Ive never seen so much venom. Typically you can tell if a manga will be dark based on the cover. Noncon is a plot point common in dark manga. Im just tired of the bickering.
