I kinda like it, it's cliche but I like how the MC has some grit to her. Her and ML have good chemistry in my opinion, and I think they're just infatuated with each other right now. I kinda like how the ML isn't the typical stoic guy and he has more personality.
I think it makes sense that the two are getting attached to each other like this. Their sexual chemistry is showing to be good, the ML likes MC's personality and it makes me wonder if his mom/ family member or friend was in the same situation that MC is in which is why he's attached to her (cleaning up her shop, offering to get her books...) MC is shown to be pretty too so I think her appearance is a plus to him of course. I think with characters like him there's a need to feel 'wanted' that they really like, almost like feeling like a savior that feeds into their ego and attaches them to the love interest even more.
I can see how the MC is attached to him because he's exhibiting behaviors in a man she seems to want (someone who'll defend her, someone with confidence, someone with influence, etc.) Seeing as the guy who proposed to her is a wuss it's not that far stretched to see her becoming infatuated with the ML. She probably has a fantasy in her mind that a rich outsider is gonna swoop her off her feet and save her from the life she's living. (obvi) Not only that, again- the two can laugh together, he likes her feisty attitude, and despite saying some fuck ass remarks at first he doesn't look down on her like the wuss of a man who proposed to her does. He calls her boss, and he lets her take the lead from what we've seen so far.
I think the only thing I really dislike and I hope it's not leaning too much into is her asking him to leave the mafia lifestyle. Like sure, don't do anything nefarious at her home or at her Udon shop but I really love Mafia wives and I need her buck up.
With that being said, I think the pace of the story is moving a bit too fast. I'm not surprised they're interested in each other, I just wish the sexual tension was built up a little more before they had sex. Like, I don't think having one or two more episodes building up the characters by themselves would have done any harm to the story.
Also, I wish we could see a bit of their environment, they keep talking about the alley and how depressing it is and how much it sucks but I'd like to see just how depressing it is and how much better it is over the wall. Not only that, does he ever give her any money for sleeping with him?? Isn't that the reason why she started sleeping with him in the first place, for money? Like I know she was depressed and wanted some happiness before she succumbed to her shitty life but girl get a bag???
Again, the premise is cliche and it reminds me of those shitty 12 episode anime's but I'm interested in the characters, so I'll be seated... For now.
