I feel like y'all looking way too much into the backstory character's age. It's really not what y'all think most likely. It's obvious they met as deity and human child, then some kind of found family dynamic was building up (we know this because of the other flashbacks in which the child is neglected/abandoned) and eventually led the Deity to feel the need to protect this child and as an old deity he might've grown too fond of him as he grew up (idk we'll see in the next flashbacks). Regardless, with every new flashback i think it is important to go back to the first chapter, you notice how MC is definitely a grown man and the Deity will always be a big guy cuz duhhh he a deity. Anyways, we all might have a foggy sight when it comes to age gaps because of other "BLs" cough cough shota cough cough, but really give this a try i REALLY think is not that serious and as a semi professional yaoi reader i smell no pedophilia.
