although i agree w u on this cuz fr tho ml be actin' a bit hypocritical on some panels or like shows contrasts here and there, but there are some instance (tho not sure which one tbh) where the mc habitually says 'no' when he's embarrassed or something, cuz as far as i can remember, there was this ep where he said no or stop and the ml actually stopped and he was like 'why'd you stop?' which was both funny and hella confusing to me because now even i can't tell if he meant no as no or no as in he's hella embarrassed. all in all, NO still means NO, and they need serious talk or maybe atp safe word to know when to actually stop.
tho i could also kinda blame kr 'kinks' for this, since from what I've seen w most manhwa when ml's sees mc cry or like turn beet red murmuring 'no' or 'stop' it turns them on,,, like are you fr?? hella twisted.

Yes, this trope also infuriates me. Many authors frame the mcs saying no as simply being shy or coy. Ive read it tons of times that I have been desensitized to it. Oftentimes, it doesn't really affect much of the story so I ignore it, but for this one, to me it really does. Because one of the biggest things the master withheld from the mc is consent. And for the lead interest to just ignore his pleas, it's so icky... If this story wasn't framed in a super romantic way, honestly, I'd view the love interest to be just as much of a danger to the mc like the master. It's kinda chilling how he's using his affection for the mc to get what he wants.
Plus, it's kinda ironic how he said he was willing to learn bdsm just to satisfy the mc. Like, hello??? Isn't consent one of the most critical parts in bdsm? The author missed a big mark with this one really. It would've been nicer to see the love interest take his time in building up the mcs trust when they are being intimate. :(
The love interest in this story has so much dissonance between his actions and words. I really like how he cares deeply for the mc, but that wonderful trait of his is undermined by his inability to understand the word NO during sex. What makes him different from the master then??? What makes it worse is obviously the mc has trauma bec. of the sexual abuse he experienced from the master. That's why it felt to me like the love interest is making light of his situation despite showing understanding. And I don't think the author will address his behaviour bec. they often portray those non-con scenes as light hearted.
As a reader, I feel like I'm being gaslighted by the author to think that the love interest have the the mcs best interest at heart even when he doesn't respect him enough to stop when he feels uncomfortable ehile having sex. It's such a shame bec. I really like the dynamics between them two and the non-con sex makes their relationship feel hollow.
