I sort it by kudos and then sift through every fic lol.
Then maybe once I've run out of that by update date because some newer stories are good just don't have the fan base yet.
I ignore hits cause I mostly just find smut there.
The bad thing about sorting by kudos is that one you've read through the good fics, each time you pass a page to different fanfics it's harder to find good ones though I think for the pairing I'm obsessed with right now, my favorite fics are the first and 60(+-) fic respectively and most popular isn't Always the best.
U can also use the include / exclude tag if there's something you know you like/dont

To find good stories, make extensive use of the filters lol
I usually just filter by language and crossovers and sort by bookmarks, but depending on how I'm feeling that day I add or remove a filter (usually the crossover one). Even with all of those, read the summary because sometimes it's still not what you would consider good. I have the most success finding "good" stories filtering by bookmark, but your preferences may differ, so use them and have fun!
sort by kudos and im currently looking at blue lock fics. wlw got big fandoms with arcane and kpop demon hunters
