PEAK TASTE especially the first two omg are we the same person annoyances to lovers is possibly my favorite of all time. it can automatically make me care abt any couple idc. for the forbidden love trope i love it even more if theyve known each other forever like they were either childhood friends or literally fated for each other type shii.
as for other tropes i like:
- roommates to lovers (esp if its paired w annoyances to lovers lol)
Ngl, you’re 3/3 with me. I love those tropes so much, but it’s rare to see a series actually follow through with it well. Most I ever see it written well is in fanfics LOL. I’m gonna check out those manhwas, I wouldn’t mind more mangas either

my top 3 favourite tropes have got to be:
rivals/annoyances/frenemies to lovers. cause the one thing i love to see in a budding romance is Banter. biting sarcasm in conversations and silly competitions, and that forms the basis of solid chemistry. its so delicious, i eat it up like a starving animal every time. prime examples of this would be: you get me going, hell and high water, missing pepper case, perfect buddy, don't mix business with pleasure, playtime with hakdo etc.
second one being forbidden lovers/long separations/reunited lovers. they never asked to fall in love but they did. then time and circuumstances snatched them away from another. but fate brings them together again is actually such an excellent gourmet subgenre of romance. its addictive. im not a masochist, but the raw tender aching emotions that hit me like a truck when reading these stories is something that is so very precious to me. i never talk about liking this stuff irl, but classic works of this trope never fail to evoke things in my heart. examples: spring the color of love, reunion, deepest confession, hope you've been well, do you still like me, murderous llewelyn candle lit dinner, etc.
third has obviously got to be mutual obsession/match my freak/theyre both psychos/one of them is a psycho and the other one is okay with that. just a guy and that weirdo he likes. peak. absolute cinema. like theyre both mentally ill and not fit for society but are doing humanity a favour by being together cause nobody else can survive all that 4d mind chess. it drives me crazy in a really good way. examples are: pawn's revenge, checkmate, moritat, red mansion, the beast must die, radio storm, an unsettling scent, etc.
Honorable mention: one of my favourite themes is Zombie apocalypse BLs. And there are fortunately so many good ones out there I'm blessed. I recommend these to literally everyone: Legroom, believe my sign, dead man switch, let's meet alive and also Radio storm.
