I really liked the dynamics and everything in the manhwa and surely i desperately wanted and hoped that won't put rape in the story .... Kind of disappointed really.. But still gonna read it so as to see how the plot line progresses. Honestly it is just sad that author's put rape in the story and call it dark romance... In all honesty I would say its just bad writing if putting rape is equivalent of dark romance ...

Exactly, maybe my expectations were so high because of Red Candy. The premise of Uno and Enzo's relationship was clearly toxic (I mean, have you seen Enzo? He's a walking red flag) but I thought "come on, after Red Candy and considering how much the author clearly likes Uno it CAN'T be THAT toxic, right??"

Idk what you were expecting tbh but I was expecting it all..cause like, we're talking about a spy agent and a tyrannical ceo who has connections with the mafia so....yeah ! I'm not saying that it's ok but that it makes sense and that it goes without saying that things were going to be poisonous at some point, like ain't no way their relationship was gonna be sweet like dripping honey or start on the right foot. If anything, when I signed up for this ride I anticipated every plausible scenario, the toxicity included !
And for the people who actually don't really understand in depth that Uno has always been a proud "exclusive" top, it means that "there's absolutely not a chance he was gonna bottom overnight of his own free will" ! So imo, him getting forced into it was one of the forseeable scenarios, alongside him bolting away.
I love it when stories are wholesome and go smoothly without a hitch but i also find it as enjoyable when everything goes wrong before it gets better !
And if the violence of Enzo's actions (throwing Uno from idk what floor into the fountain, the manhandling, the spanking, the getting rid of everyone for his own gain, etc...) comes as too brutal sometimes, it shouldn't be shocking i think, it has always been an indicator of how much of a monster he was. I never thought that Uno matched Enzo's freak btw, Adrian is too mild for him -and Enzo is too deviant- that's why one of the reasons I tuned in for the story is to watch him crumble and get tamed after falling in love ~
Soooo in conclusion, ain't no way imma drop this just because of this incident, if anything, I'm more hyped up after this chapter to witness the shift in their dynamic, that sure must have been a bitter pill to swallow for Uno and I'm sooo ready to see him trigger the chase and make Enzo miserable ! ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
All in all, Uno had to suffer the moment he got tangled up with Enzo, and I acknowledged it a long time ago, I just look forward Enzo suffering in return ~
That was my opinion, even if it's not the widespread viewpoint and that we don't see eye-to-eye, I hope we can discuss things amicably (=・ω・=)

I’d understand being uncomfortable, but context and just…reading the room is crucial. This is BL.
One man is quite literally a criminal and shows sadistic tendencies. The cards are all laid out. Simply put, if this isn’t your cup of tea, it’s okay to turn away. But everything seems to be at the right place characterization-wise so I don’t see any issues beyond people wanting a story to conform to their limits of consumption.
Don’t like, don’t read.

I do respect your opinion don't worry, I actually love that you took the time to explain your point of view without insulting other opinions or anything :)
In fact I also read some toxic stories, but in those cases I knew what I was signing up for since the beginning (e.g. when I'm in the mood to read some regret/redemption stories, or when I know that the male lead is actually somebody else that isn't a red flag). In this case I had hope for that particular antagonistic cat-dog dynamic they seemed to have in the beginning, and for them to be at least a bit equal, but it ended up falling into the exact same old trope that 80% of BL authors insert (rape + top that in the end always has the upperhand in every way) so I was left disappointed. Had I known about what would happen before I started reading I would have had lower or at least different expectations regarding their relationship and I wouldn't have been as disappointed. I also realized just HOW MUCH Enzo actually doesn't give a fuck about Rian or his comfort at this point in the story (he's just obsessed with a new interesting toy, ultimately an object, it's not a relationship of mutual intrigue/respect for the other's abilities like I hoped). So yeah, in the end it's partially due to the change compared to what I had in mind ╥﹏╥
I'm dropping this until at least this season is concluded to see if the author has something in mind for Enzo's character
Sooo what do you guys think about the new chapter? I'm honestly just uncomfortable. VERY uncomfortable. I had high expectations for their dynamic/rivalry at the beginning, maybe TOO high, because how is this any different from all the other toxic BLs that start with rape?? I mean it's not like I wasn't expecting this AT ALL (see for example the masturbation scene at the bar), but I'm still disappointed it ended up as expected... and it wasn't even the usual "rape but at the very least the mc ends up enjoying it" (which is still unjustifiable rape and still disgusting but you know what I mean, at least it didn't hurt), he's clearly in terrible pain here :/
I was expecting them to fight a bit and Rian eventually giving up for some reason, maybe because he wanted to try bottoming for Enzo, NOT TO SEE HIM TIED UP AND VIOLENTLY RAPED WTFFFF
Am I overreacting if I say I want to drop it already even though I was so excited? I can't see this get any less toxic
