I get where FL is coming from. I mean, after finding out that the medicine she's making is not working anymore for ML, you'd usually resort to other measures and it just so happened that the last resort was to pair him up with the saintess. Let's not forget that the reason why she knows the medicine is because she remembered the recipe. Not because she researched it.

Now, if the saintess didn't have feelings for ML, I bet they would have reached an agreement where the former would receive equivalent compensation for healing ML. But no, the saintess chose to use FL's feelings so that she can get ML, and that ended badly.

She wasn't following the original plot. She was just doing what she thought was best for him. No one likes seeing their loved ones suffer while helplessly watching from the side.

Hope she reaches a breakthrough with the medicine tho. So that FL won't have to rely on the saintess' power to heal ML.

I respected the saintess at first but honestly she stooped so low it felt so pathetic. Kudos to her tho for admitting it

This! I get and respect her actions are coming from a place of empathy. HOWEVER, I'm sooo curious about a, kinda throwaway line, from the ML. I don't remember the chapter but he was saying "you don't know what it means to receive healing from the saintess." Like???? Bro, what do YOU MEAN.

I also thought that maybe they could reach a mutual understanding. It's just healing, why refuse it so much? But your comment and the line has me thinking. Maybe ML knows that the type of healing he needs is more intimate? And that's why he is not even entertaining the fact. Maybe MC is not aware of what the healing completely entails, just like the recipe.

I'm also hoping for a breakthrough. Like bro has already made it clear he would rather suffer than leave her, and now she is just adding misery to his fire

Maybe he needs constant healing? Or yeah, the healing method might be too intimate.

From the looks of it, ML knows that the saintess likes him, so if he had accepted her offer to heal him, she would have used that to latch onto ML, and he didn't want that.

His refusal for healing has me confused as well.

But one thing's for sure, like you said, Bro would rather suffer than leave FL

I kinda think that the healing of the saintess has maybe something like a brainwashing effect? Making the reciever yearn for her or making them addicted to her holy power?
