I’m not a fan of this development. Kaya is clearly a troubled kid who’s been failed and taken advantage of by the adults around him. He does not know what love is and because Ranko is the first person to treat him with kindness, he thinks he’s in love with her and wants to be intimate with her. I need Ranko to stand up for herself and stop letting Kaya push her around because he knows she’ll do what he wants if he threatens to run away or go back to his old bad habits. I hope by the end of the story Kaya can find purpose and happiness, preferably without Ranko as his love interest/partner.
