Nuance is truly dead lol. The way I understand it is that he sees his first love through rose colored glasses, and now the honeymoon phase is stating to fade as reality hits. He can clearly see someone he loves self-destructing, and there’s a sort of helplessness that comes with that b/c you don’t know how to REALLY help. I would think the only thing he can do for atm is just hold her as tight as he can, but he seems to know it won’t really fix anything to just reassure her in that moment. She doesn’t love herself, and he seems green flag enough to know it’s not healthy for her to channel a sense of self and reason to live, into him.
