Because living in some sort of situation for too long can be tiresome for both people. I think they mentioned that he borrowed money from mafia and stuff. It's always in Korea a topic in movies that they get followed by mafia until they return all the money.

Right now their situation is "we are poor and fucked up". And that doesn't help at all xDDDD
