I understand why people are hating on Kang Mincheol's backstory, but to me, it resembles reality more closely than the original male lead's. I know some men who were so passionately in love (or so they claimed) with their partners.
My friend's father, who's from a wealthy family, went against his parents and married my friend's mom, who's from a poorer family. Of course, he got kicked out of his home. He had a savior complex, which I guess backfired. When he realized he wasn't the Prince Charming he thought he was, he married another woman (who was selected by his mother) just to get accepted back into the family. Even after all this he genuinely thought my friends mom wouldn't leave him cause he was all she had.
