What if after all this they went separate ways and there's a time skip of few years before them meeting again? It would be terrible if the author just continue this timeline and they just ended up together just like that. They at least need some time alone, sort things by themselves before them being romantically involve. I want them to grow more personally, career wise, and all so they could start with not really a clean slate, a blank one would be good too.
