A bit confusing but I think I geddit.

Baby MC was pretending to be sick so that she wouldn't have to accompany trash father on some thing that's bound to fail.
Pretend sickness became real sickness and she was near death(?) in a coma ish. And in that state she saw a dream where future she and ML kill each other, but she doesn't recognise future ML as current child ML bc their eye colours are different.
Anyways so during this time of sickness her mom sent her to this monk medicine dude on the mountains so the dude could cure her and so that she'd be a disciple and safe there (?). 3 years have passed and MC has no memory. During this time ML got his memories (during his time at MC's house) sealed. And he was sent as a medicine dude disciple as well. ML also sees the dreams that MC sees but they don't know who each other is.
And I'm getting tragic ML backstory vibes which should be cleared up later ? All these dreams that ML sees are probably the previous timeline. He's probably a reincarnator, unlike MC who's a transmigrator.

Ngl it is confusing, idk if it's the manga or the translation fault but yeah. But I really like it !! Art and plot is fantastic, I reccomend

Yeah, the story telling is super awkward and the subpar translations aren't helping. The time skip threw me off too, since they slapped it on our faces in the middle of a dream.

But anyway, as another explained:
1. Baby FL & her family (not including the trash dad) pretended she's sick to avoid getting sent to that thingy where she has to accompany her father by orders of their emperor (because it would only lead to a BE for her); in the process of faking it, she actually really got sick instead.
2. She fell into a coma, so her mother sent her to the medicine sect dude to get better and protect her from the trash dad. In the process, she became a disciple as well.
3. At the same time, ML was sent there by his master (teacher, the one in red robes in the previous chapter flashback) who told the medicine sect master (their current teacher) to erase ML's memories to protect him (because everyone in his family wants him dead).
4. Both FL & ML share the same dream, but only ML is always aware of the other's identity. Except, since his memories were intentionally sealed (removed), he wasn't able to connect that to the 7 yr old FL.
5. At this point in time, FL's trash father finally discovered where her mother hid her and plotted for her death and in the process, ML hit his head got his sealed memories back.
And yeah, ML is pretty much a regressor. He said so in the first chapter that he returned (to the past) when he was supposedly dead. After all, his stepmother is constantly plotting for his demise and his father emperor couldn't care less and finds him disposable.

Oh damn thanks for the clear up, I forgot a lot of that plot

Chinese webtoons are either masterpieces or fast-paced incoherent stories, there's nothing in-between.

I usually stay clear of them, I was just really bored so I gave this one a shot and by Chinese webtoons standards it's okay. But yeah it's fast-paced and a bit incoherent.

ML??? but he can hear her thoughts???? doesn't that mean they're related????
