Not to sour the mood for butch lovers, however the story shouldn't be filed under the Yuri category

Ren is a trans-masculine individual. The author has drawn out his gender dysphoria and the desire to be more closely align to a biological-male's traits; deep voice etc.

Regardless of the signs, Ren has never specified their gender identity. It's possible they'd rather not be boxed into any label

You're not souring the mood dw, its a discussion :] personally I disagree, there are loads of ways gnc ppl live their lives, and it's not so clear cut as gender dysphoria = trans. Ren seems to also be uncomfortable with being called a boy (or rather having her gender being under constant scrutiny) which is very real of the nonbinary/gnc experience (being asked to "pick a side" when u don't think the sides exist for you)

hello. tmasc butch lesbian here. lesbianism isnt exclusive to women, and many lesbians fall under the nonbinary umbrella when it comes to their gender. it's clearly shown that ren doesn't want to identify or be perceived as either a man or a woman, so saying they're a trans man is wrong. also the author advertises it as yuri so clearly i dont think you have any right to say whether it belongs in the category or not. this is probably one of the very few times I'll see good representation of who I am in a medium and seeing people treat gender as a complete binary and throw all of this amazing character writing and representation in the trash just to slap the trans man label on them is extremely upsetting, and you kind of missed the point of the plot too, cause your behaviour and false assumptions resemble the one that ren is actively trying to avoid in the story if you ask me. this IS a yuri and it's important for "unconventional" lesbians, or sapphics in general, who are not even accepted in their own community, to be represented in such a beautiful way. dont take this away from us
