That phone call with his parent

You know how they said his happiness is what really matters?? Like... I have questions. I know his family is very conservative it's so annoying, and because of that I think they're the kind to impose their conservative way of thinking on their son (which is basically the reason Sakuraba grew up to be such a jerkface, like twf do you mean "why are you a man?") But ever since that phone call, I really expected him to come out with his parents, you know. But now, this isn't my point.

My point is to rant about my questions because of that call. Like, is that the author hinting that although they have a conservative way of thinking, they would've cared more about their son's feelings? If their son came out of the closet, would they have been disappointed, but accept him regardless?? Was Sakuraba only overthinking this "being hated and all" and has pointlessly become the way he was?? (Because that'd be annoying).

Uggghhh if the author made him come out, I wouldn't be ranting here like this. Even mangas with actual open endings are much easier to accept than this. I mean, it's exactly because it's clearly a closed ending despite having so much left unturned, which is why it's kinda disappointing.
