I think it's important to understand that people can change, for the worse sometimes. This shows what young love is VS actual marriage. They did not yet fully understand what marriage would take, Mincheol, especially. Haesoo was willing to make all those sacrifices as she grew with Mincheol but for Mincheol she became a burden. As much as we can all see that he is a huge burden for her, she sees it as a necessary sacrifice for a lasting relationship and she doesn't know how to let go. Mincheol was NOT ready for marriage, in every way possible, he felt like Haesoo stunted his growth and limited him, she was also a constant reminder of his past and financial struggle. Once you feel like someone is an obstacle in your life through and through that only builds contempt. They should've broken things off a long time ago because they obviously wanted different paths as they years went by but they stubbornly held on to the memories of that young love. They definitely have honored it to the best of their ability, especially Haesoo, I think moreso her while for Mincheol it's just his stubborness and the fact that he holds onto her because she's the only family and constant he's ever really had, he does treat her like crap and takes her for granted. Somehow, that's why Haesoo is scared of getting too close to Taeha, she's scared of repeating the same scenario, what's worse, she doesn't want to "rob" him of his youth and dreads that fading "young love" that doesn't tend to bleed into a deeper and long-lasting relationship. I'm sure she also feels the pressure of aging, she knows that Taeha has his life ahead of him and that the most valuable thing she was able to offer ie her "beauty" is fading, afterall that's what most say abt her, that she's pretty... she probably feels like that's the only reason she was able to pull Mincheol in the first place since he seems to hate her personality... Taeha is probably one of the only people who appreciate other qualities abt her like her resilience and hard working nature, we can also tell she's more comfortable bickering with him and being "less agreeable", she's most authentic around him. Taeha is an interesting character as well, but for now, I just wanted to analyse Mincheol a bit more. I don't like him but I don't hate him per se, Haesoo is also responsible for herself, I'm glad she's finally doing what's right for her. I think that what happened to her marriage is pretty common, but at the end of the day, you gotta have some self-respect and know when to move on from something that's not working to the point where it's becoming dysfunctional.
