I read this story in one day. And I agree with so many comments. The wholesomeness was so forced. Dominic was a disgusting bastard. He ruined one person to the point of no return and this person tried to do the same thing to Winter as a trauma response. In the last five chapters everything felt rushed and nonsensical. You’re telling me a bastard like Dominic, who raped and manipulated Raymon his whole life, suddenly gave up because Winter took the drug for him? Just like that? An obsessive evil character like him would have just taken Raymon and ruin him further. Especially with Jason there in the room too. But Jason suddenly turned into a good guy and helped Winter and then Dominic gave up on Raymon and left them live both a happy life? No consequences whatsoever for Dominic? Nah. This story started soooo good as a twisted dark story and by the end of it was absolutely slaughtered in an attempt to justify the love between Winter and Raymon when it was only psychological dependency result of so many years of trauma the both of them went through. It came full circle in a ridiculous way. I have mixed feelings about it. It’s like “A tree without roots” but if a 15yo wrote a bad fanfic about it.
