He had depression as a child due to abuse. It is normal for a kid like that to think "it is boring" since he is not well developed to put a finger on to his feelings.

That woman reaching for Mieum. So are we just moving past that? I thought she was gonna kidnap him or something. Did I miss something?
Also (IMO) I feel like the whole “life’s so boring because I don’t have emotions” is cliche. I can understand him not being able to connect with people due to having to protect himself from a young age, but I feel like there is a better way to show that then just the “this is boring” plot line
