I will say with much regret that I agree with the cardinal. The ml has a habit of just kind not interfering until it's too late with certain things and as the cardinal said not much has changed.
Anyways at this point the cardinal needs his own love interest, he legit is too involved in a love triangle that he's not really even being glanced at. What Ian felt was familial not romantic so like sir just either fuck off and move on or idk disappear?? He seems a decent guy with certain things but his oppression and obsession has overruled any chance he has had to move on
