Oh yes, the OBVIOUS redemption arc. The rape, emotional abuse, ecc. are justified thanks to the classic "he's got a sad backstory!" kind of narrative.
I mean, we got this even in Bj Alex, meaning that the author doesn't even have other ideas to continue this. At least in Bj Alex Jiwon wasn't so trash (he was trash, but at least all the story with his redemption arc didn't feel so pushed).
However in Jinx we just have 2 dumb characters that aren't interesting to look at, surrounded by a halo of unjustified abuse and violence.
This is so badly written that it feels like it's done on purpose.
