My chest feels tight. I dont particularly feel sad or angry or anything. My chest, it just feels tight after reading this chapter.
Mincheol changed because of greed. Monetary and…something else. He loved hae soo, there’s no doubt in that. He wanted to protect her shelter her provide for her most importantly be the light in her gloomy world. So in order to keep her happy he thought he needed to get rich asap. Then when he started to struggle with that ambition of his he started to become more and more frustrated. Then what was once raw will power to keep hae soo happy became the sheer greed for more money for himself (maybe). So i think his intense monetary greed stemmed off from wanting to provide better for hae soo. And that greed kept corrupting his mind and heart more and more as the years went by.
It’s just my opinion. But it still doesnt make him less of a bad person or sympathize for him. Because in the end he did let himself get swayed off the path he swore to follow, towards hae soo, along side hae soo….willingly.
My final verdict is this chapter, was a very hard read. It made me feel very uncomfortable and….exhausted perhaps. And maybe a little scared. The thought of a loved one slowly morphing into someone like mincheol, its horrifying..
