I saw a discussion in the comments so I'm here to add a few cents because why not.
First of all, I did not expect this level of fucked-up shit from a story which literally has "The Wet King" in its title. The brother looked too well drawn and I find out he has a story too.... Am I willing to read it? Maybe. Will I let slide what he did because of what happened to him? Absolutely no. I know its a fictional story but honestly, the only sane character was Azam. He didn't deserve any of this. Even Tokio was a psychotic little thing.

Onto the second part and it might ruffle some feathers.... This Manga gave me bad feelings. Like I ate something weird and now it's causing me heartburn. So I went back and forth thru the panels. I was absolutely right. As someone who has read Mangas (yes the Japanese ones) for 12 years, I have a pretty good idea about how the Japanese mangakas do their research. Especially when Arabs are concerned. Now I know they always have stereotypes, but it's a bit worse with Arabs. Apparently all Arabs (and a majority of them are in romance) are rich. Oil tycoons, business owners, multinational hotel chains managers... Etc etc and they wear the dress and hair accessory. Their names too. Let's take this one for example. He's called Azam, which means great in Arabic. They always have an "Al" (literally just a suffix. It converts a simple noun to complex noun. Usually.)
Now that this does not mean that they're implying every dark skinned Arab is Muslim and usually when I read shit like this, I just breathe and assume that's not the case. Despite knowing the that they probably think all Arabs are Muslims (spoiler alert, they're not).... And it works out.
This Manga however, it made me feel queasy. Because the author implied multiple times that this guy and his country was predominantly Muslim. The artificial rain, the daily saying "if the god will be..", the attire, the settings, the names.... it all screamed Muslim....
This is not going to be me preaching about Islam or how its haram and everything, but this is me saying that even if you're ignorant, you do realize there is stuff which borders on disrespect.
I know people are going to be like "well, if you don't like it don't read it" and stuff like that". Or "Well, we're from another religion but we never went this feral when Mangas mentioned our religion" or "they use Jesus and Buddha all the time, what's the big deal?"
Its the weird way they put it and how they imagine Muslims are. I really don't mind Muslim being mentioned or used in a media, but I hate it when it's so obviously wrong. Everyone is with faults, yes. But imagine putting pedophilia, rape, fucked up family dynamics, manipulation, oppression, and so much more when implying a person follows a particular religion. I see it as obvious islamophobia. Do not twist my words and take it as if I'm acknowledging shit or "tHeRe iS aLwAyS sOmE TrUtH-" no. Shut up. You don't get to talk about a religion when you don't know jackshit about it. Which is especially my problem with this author.
The art is gorgeous. Absolute treat, but the world could do without this story. You can write a good psychological trauma, without obvious implications to anyone. You can just not think that it's fine if you're ignorant. You also can not have "Sexy Wet King" in the title and then make it a trauma dump......a BAD trauma dump.
It's getting long.... I am going to stop here. Gawd.
