When the MC is severe mentally ill. Have really serious mental illness like severe OCD, BPD, Skizofrenia, anything, that the story is really going along with the POV from someone who struggled even with simple task daily life, because of their mental ill.
You see, I have OCD. So, maybe this is just my way to seek a 'friend' that has the same fate with me. Haha.
