That was genuinely a hard read with his back story
I found myself being angry at the mom many times but honestly I don’t hate her, I know some of y’all do lol She has her own issues with her mom and bro and whether she wanted to or not, she somewhat turned into her mom when raising her kids-
But I do applaud her efforts of trying because I could tell she genuinely wanted to try and did care for him in a way that she could- even tho it was hard
I’m not gonna lie, I can understand the frustration she feels esp having been the child your own mother didn’t care for and only cared for your brother and practically forced to care for your brother kid.
It was her first time being a mother and she was navigating those difficult feelings- unfortunately Kevin got the effects of those feelings sometimes
And the whole situation with the fish, seeing how Kevin grew up, and her studying child psych (probably to kelp Kevin i some way) I don’t blame her for thinking that Kevin might hurt her- and the situation with Hayden, that officially broke the camels back
Even tho she doesn’t want him any more, I do think she still has care for him whether she likes it or not
I just wish they all did therapy, esp family therapy- and wish Kevin worked on his social skills more- or had the support Also the “dad” didn’t really do jack shit either, he didn’t even seem to bother, only the mom seemed like she was trying- which frustrates me cuz it’s a parent job not just the mother, so he should get as much flack for being so absent ?!
And the actual dad?! Like hello?! Wtf that’s your son, you should do something!! This shut pisses me off, they all failed him but I think the mom was genuinely trying- so props to her- it seems like she was the type of person who always needed to take responsibility.
