i may belong to the small few who generally enjoy this manhwa, idk i like to read toxic problematic stuff, i can't help it but the introduction of a side couple into such a complicated, tormented narrative feels really... irresponsible, and lazy. this was my exact issue with viewfinder, too; to shift from a genuinely interesting pair of complex characters that we've followed for however many chapters to two people i literally Do Not Give a Fuck About is really... frustrating! i don't need to waste chapters following after a side couple that fails to serve the story in any meaningful way; i'm here for sooyoung, to watch him navigate his situation & (hopefully) escape it.
i just think a side couple is the last thing this story needs. sooyoung & jihwan are easily compelling enough on their own. anything that takes attention away from their quite necessary development moving forward seems to me like an incredibly foolish decision, narratively speaking
