The way he was made reminds me of how very potent poison was made in olden times.. you put all the snake in one place and let them cannibalise out of hunger.. you repeat this process over and over again and the one snake who wins has the most potent venom
Ooo! I never heard about this. With inugami they’d starve a dog, chaining it up just out of reach of food, or burying it up to its neck making it go berserk. Then they behead it, maintaining control. It often turns ain’t it’s master (good)!

So I couldn’t find any Korean lore that directly ties into how Lord Mugo was made into a snake god, but in Japanese lore, an Inugami ( dog god) would be made by going thru severe measures. So maybe this is what happened to our Mugos. In Korea, a imugi (kinda similar to Mugo), is a lesser snake deity who wants to be a dragon.
