I completely agree with you. It's frustrating that many webtoons constantly feel the need to let the FL shine at the expense of the ML (and other characters). The ML is essentially reduced to a sidekick and as a result, I find it difficult to cheer for their romance －.－
But in general I also don't understand how it's possible that there's usually no middle ground: Either a FL who constantly needs saving or a FL who is completely superior to everyone else.
Both annoy me almost equally. It feels like lazy writing (︶︿︶)
YES THIS EXACTLY!! Like, why can’t we have both a competent ml and fl! Or, they both help each other when the other is in trouble. Their love blooms because they’re the only two that can support the other when they need it!
Like, imagine if the mc makes her own pact with another spirit or something. Or. Who knows, have her power come from something else, like her literal previous life where she was the founder of the fcking palace, instead of throwing a bs reason like “oh you reincarnated” like???
:/ I kinda dislike it in stories when the reincarnated mc just comes in and steals everything the original now was supposed to have. Idk, it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I was really hoping the wolf wouldn’t make a pact with the mc honestly. Idk how to describe it, but I just roll my eyes when these types of scenes happen and I get annoyed.like, why can’t you give the mc lucky encounters that didn’t originally happen to the original ml?? Not to mention, it’ll now make the ml weaker than before, so that’s just annoying. I’ve seen series where the mc takes everything the ml was supposed to have so she ends up having to protect the ml. Which is fine since cool girlboss. However, the ml gets annoying when he’s in need of constant protecting.
Like, idk where this story will go, but I hope it doesn’t go the way I’ve seen other stories go. Why can’t we have both a competent mc and ml, without the other taking stuff from the other?
